He studied statistics during BSc and PhD and got involved in many different areas such as statistical modeling, quality control, six sigma, statistical software and algorithm development, industrial data analysis and bioinformatics. İbrahim Erkan worked as a research assistant in the Middle East Technical University from 2003 to 2007 and switched to the private sector. As a statistical expert, he provided statistical quality trainings as well as statistical quality consultancy to many reputable Turkish companies. He also managed sales operations of academic and technical software products in the same company. Having joined Ankara Development Agency in 2010, İbrahim Erkan started working on regional development by means of science, innovation and technology. The Agency specifically aims the development of entrepreneurship in Ankara. As an Investment Support Expert at the Agency, his roles are to contribute to the development of entrepreneurship in Ankara city as well as to the promotion of inward investments.
